Colourful, Cosy Cheer at Vintage Home!

Now that the short days are upon us our little cottage is the perfect place to be, with a warm and cosy array of vintage quilts and throws to snuggle under in front of the fire.

This is one of my favourite spots, with timeworm patchwork throws and quilts which aren't too precious to be used every day.

As the evening approaches, this corner of the cottage is the perfect place to settle down with a good book and a mug of hot chocolate.

All this cosying up besides crackling log fires is setting the scene for that very special time of the year when we all like to indulge ourselves...

So, there is no denying that magical, mystical time is fast approaching and here at Vintage Home, we are making early preparations for Christmas. The website has kept us extremely busy this year and we have had great fun seeking out all the many, many vintage wonders which have now found new and loving homes. We will be updating the website with a beautiful selection of tantalising treasures over the next few days and as a very special thank you for your valued custom throughout 2009, we will be giving away a delectable Harrods Hamper to one lucky person!

There are lots of tasty treats included in the gift hamper which is appropriately entitled 'A Christmas Carol'.

Be sure to get your orders in well before Christmas, as we know how much you love our mouse mats and we wouldn't want to disappoint you by running out of them! They make ideal stocking fillers and don't forget we still have our rosebud and polka dot mouse mat available too! (Due to recent demand, our Victorian roses mouse mat is currently sold out; sorry!)

We're thrilled to announce that the monthly magazine for the antiques trade 'antiquexplorer' has awarded us the title of Website of The Month for November! The antiquexplorer is a classy glossy magazine which is distributed throughout the West Country here in the UK but they also have a website which echoes the quality of their printed publication - pop along for a browse when you have time...

Grouping together a variety of interesting vanity items makes a very pleasing display and antique or vintage textiles are perfect for giving a room a particular style and creating comfort. Why not keep a selection of pretty, mismatched crockery to hand on your kitchen table, ready for serving tea and cake to opportune guests who may call by. Surrounding yourself with beautiful art is a great way to inspire and revive the mind! The ways to use and display vintage items are endless - which ensures a constantly evolving, individual look to your home.

	Pale blue is perfect for a baby boy - but wouldn't look out of place for a little girl, either! Use a fresh, colorful blue, to bring some life into the room (too pale blue may make the nursery feel cold)!
	This shows just how simply you can transform a neutral room into a clean and cosy nursery. A jungle frieze gives inspiration. Using a cot quilt as a wall hanging adds more interest to the room.
	O love Oliver's room! The soft greens and blues give a warm, friendly feel in the room. And it won't be too babyish, as Oliver grows up, either. The unusual, soft lighting, by the cot, is a great idea!
	Dark wood nursery furniture looks very elegant here - and combines wonderfully with soft creams and tans. Great, with a fun giraffe theme running through. Suitable for boys or girls, and for kids as well as babies.
	Definitely only suitable for a baby girl! But what a gorgeous pink room! Love the touches of green too - especially the frog - which stops the pink becoming too intense!
	This lovely, homely baby room would look great in any tradtional home. I love the mixture of cream and russet - very cosy! And that chair looks so comfy for nursing baby!
